To create a new placement within a newsletter, first you need to locate the newsletter. Find access to all your brands under Brands section from the Supply department within the menu on your left-hand side.
Then, find the brand you want to address and click the brand name, eg The New Yorker.
Within the brand, leverage the search feature to find the newsletter name you are looking for, eg New York Today. Click on the brand name to open the Ad Placement management dashboard for this specific newsletter.
The navigation disclaimer on the top of the page will help you understand where within the platform you are located: Brands - The New Yorker - New York Today.
Now, you can click the Create new placement button to begin monetizing your newsletter campaigns.
When the dashboard for creating ad placements opens, first you’ll have to name the placement. Make sure to give it an intuitive, descriptive name to make it easier for the entire team to navigate through the placements across different newsletters.
Here, you will also have the opportunity to add the Reference ID for the placement to make it easier for third-party software system to understand the performance of the ads. For example, a BOTAD id for a placement that is at the bottom of the newsletter will help an analytics software to understand how your NYT-NYTODAY-BOTAD performs, aka how the bottom ad placements within the New York Today newsletter within The New Yorker performs.
The next step, which is mandatory for designing a placement, is to select the layout for this ad placement. You can do so by selecting the optimal layout from your layout inventory, presented in the dropdown menu in the Layout field.
Finally, you can select the channels you wish to include this ad in, or you can manage this later, from the Channels inventory selector.
When you finish editing the ad placement settings, click the Create button and open the Placement Dashboard to connect your new placement to the ESP.
